◦•●♡❤️ ℬal u ℬożeny Collective presents - Sunday Serving Kiki Function in XOXO! Let's welcome the New Year with joy, community, and pure fun! Sunday Serving is designed for the youth, the newer generation, and anyone eager to try themselves in new categories before walking bigger balls. Whether you're trying out a category for the first time, sharpening your skills, or building confidence before stepping onto bigger stages, this is the perfect space to grow and shine! Whether you're competing or cheering from the crowd, this event is all about community, creativity, and celebrating the spirit of ballroom. Everyone is welcome to join, enjoy the performances, and feel inspired! Ballroom is a cultural movement rooted in the 1970s, created by Black and Latinx trans women in the US as a space for expression, resilience, and chosen family. Through different categories, participants share their talent, creativity, and presence - while honoring the pioneers of the scene and continuing to build a safer, empowering space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. The aim of Sunday Serving is also to give back to the community - part of the funds raised will go directly to support members of the scene in need. This edition will include a fundraiser in support of Arlo's surgery - a queer artist associated with activism, anti-discrimination education, and work on behalf of marginalized communities. https://zrzutka.pl/f39n4t ◦•●♡❤️ SCHEDULE ❤️♡●•◦ 4 PM / Doors open 5 PM / Roll Call 8 PM / End ◦•●♡❤️ Dresscode ❤️♡●•◦ No themes in the categories - come as you are! ◦•●♡❤️ DJ ❤️♡●•◦ Vola 007 ◦•●♡❤️ Host & Commentator ❤️♡●•◦ Trailblazer Bożna 007 ◦•●♡❤️ Judges ❤️♡●•◦ TBA on site ◦•●♡❤️ Categories in order ❤️♡●•◦ Best Make Up Realness (FQ, TM, BQ) Baby Vogue Arms vs Hands Beginners Runway Face Best Dressed 15 MIN BREAK Fag out Dyke out Old Way vs New Way Body Runway Sex Siren Vogue Fem ◦•●♡❤️ Entry ❤️♡●•◦ (cash at the door only) Spectators / 40 PLN Registered ballroom community / 20 PLN (link coming soon) BIPOC performers and spectators enter for FREE 🏳️🌈What is Bal u Bożeny?🏳️🌈 Bal u Bożeny is a collective that creates events that combine ballroom and club culture. The aim of the collective is not only to spread ballroom culture in Poland but also to promote the local art scene. Bal u Bożeny initiatives include workshops, discussion panels, music events, balls, charity activities and commercial projects. The main goal of the collective is to create a safe space for free artistic expression, especially for the LGBTQ+ community from Poland and abroad. Through dance and shared fun, Bal u Bożeny stands for diversity and inclusivity in ballroom and beyond. https://www.instagram.com/balubozeny/ 🏳️🌈What is Ballroom?🏳️🌈 Ballroom culture was created by African-American and Latinx LGBTQ+ communities in the 70' in New York City. It comes from the culture of Drag Queens, who used to meet at underground balls in Harlem where they competed with each other in many performative and dance categories. Since then, balls have become an inclusive and safe space for free expression for queer youth of color. In addition to many categories related to performance and dance (Voguing), the ballroom is characterized by the creation of alternative family models such as House, vocabulary, music, or its own social hierarchies such as Icons, Legenda, Statements, and Stars. Ballroom Culture is a safe(r) space that prioritizes QTIBIPOC. Please be mindful and respectful of who the space is for. Before stepping out on the runway, please get to know the ballroom history and the rules of a given category. If you have any questions please contact us here: [email protected] And remember! Any form of discrimination will not be accepted during the event. If you feel that your safe space has been violated, report it to the security and event organizers. NO MEANS NO NO RACISM NO SEXISM NO HOMOPHOBIA NO TRANSPHOBIA NO ABLEISM NO AGEISM NO CLASSISM NO HATE NO WAR
