Prof. Ilan Roth: Basic Physics for Philosophers, Historia
Opis
Prof. Ilan Roth: Basic Physics for Philosophers, Historians, Politicians, and Psychologists. Join us for an inspiring lecture! Have you ever noticed how many questions in the humanities and social sciences quietly rely on ideas rooted in physics and analytical thinking? This lecture invites you to explore those hidden connections. Prof. Ilan Roth (University of California) will guide us through an accessible and engaging journey into selected physical phenomena and analytical approaches - presented through examples relevant to disciplines such as philosophy, history, politics, and psychology. From causality and uncertainty to dynamics and systems thinking, discover how these concepts can deepen understanding and sharpen reasoning across fields. 𝟮𝟴th April 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | 𝟭𝟱:𝟯𝟬 Room 𝟰.𝟬𝟭, 𝟰th floor, Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw, Banacha Street 𝟮D No registration required. Free admission. Don't miss this opportunity to broaden your perspective and connect ideas across disciplines! Prof. Ilan Roth is an Associate Research Physicist at the Space Sciences Laboratory, University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on acceleration processes in the magnetosphere and heliosphere, anomalous abundance due to resonance interaction, and non-Markovian diffusion. He obtained a BSc in Jerusalem , an MSc at the Weizmann Institute, and a PhD at Tel Aviv University. After completing his PhD he joined the Space Sciences Laboratory at UC Berkeley, where he developed a long-standing research career combining theoretical analysis, numerical modelling, and interpretation of in situ and remote observations in space plasma physics.
