Opis

Have you ever walked past these crosses and wondered what history is connected to them? 🚶‍♂️ Join us for a guided walk through the most important locations connected with the 1956 protests. 📍 In the footsteps of the Poznań Uprising June 1956 70 years ago, on June 28, 1956, workers from Poznań factories rose up against poor working conditions, low wages, and difficult living standards. What began as protests, quickly turned into a broader uprising with national significance. The events of Poznań June 1956 became the first major workers' rebellion in the history of the Polish People's Republic and remain one of the key moments in modern Polish history - reported on newspaper front pages all over the world, but… in different way that in Poland. We will start in the city centre and explore sites in Łazarz and Jeżyce (districts in the Poznań dialect called "fyrtle") - the main stages of the uprising. Along the way, you will: ▪️ learn about the causes and consequences of the events ▪️ hear stories of the people involved ▪️ discover places where history happened 📅 Date: May 17 🕒 Time: 3:00 PM ⏳ Duration: approx. 1.5 hours 💸 Cost: free of charge 🇬🇧 Language: English 📍 Meeting point: in front of the Poznań June 1956 Monument (Adam Mickiewicz Square) Our guide will be Aleksandra Nyka from the Przewodnicy PTTK. 📌 About the project The project "Czerwiec '56 na Fyrtlach" is a cultural and educational initiative in Poznań, dedicated to commemorating the events of the Poznań Uprising June 1956. The project is funded by the City of Poznań and organized by Stowarzyszenie Sąsiedzki Łazarz in cooperation with Jeżyckie Centrum Kultury. #poznanwspiera #VisitPoznan #VisitLazarz #Poznan #PoznanEvents #ThingsToDoPoznan #Lazarz #Jezyce #Fyrtle #PoznanJune1956 #Czerwiec56 #HistoryOfPoland #WalkingTour #ExplorePoznan
