Opis

"Meat Grinder" is an anti-war exhibition by photographer Olga Volodina, presented as part of the Wschodni Festiwal Fotografii. The exhibition includes the premiere of the short film "Meat Grinder," several artworks, and a live performance "Propaganda" Venue: Galeria Labirynt 2, Grodzka 3, 20-112 Lublin, Poland Exhibition: Data: 06.06.2026 - 30.08.2026 Time: 3pm-10.00pm Life Performance: Data: 07.06.2026 Time: 5pm Meat Grinder (stop-motion movie) "Meat Grinder" is a stop-motion video that explores the tragic fate of a generation taken hostage by a perverse system rife with double standards and manipulative propaganda. In this world of hypocrisy and cruelty of the chosen few, the illusion of stability and security masks the real purpose of individuals: to be cannon fodder, mere resources for the system when the time comes. The project metaphorically portrays how the system conditions its members to live without will or a desire for freedom, transforming them into ruthless dummies. The video reveals that maternal protection is a mere mirage; the real goal is to serve as fuel for the relentless war machine. Like livestock on a farm, the system feeds its inhabitants, preparing them for slaughter, where war grinds everyone without distinction. "Meat Grinder" lays bare the absence of choice and freedom, turning the viewer into a witness of how this bloody, infernal mill continues to spin, enriching those in power. More than 1000 photographs were used in the stop motion. All sets and costumes were hand-made without the use of computer graphics or artificial intelligence. Interactive life performance "Propaganda" (07.06.26, at 5pm) "These days, information is one of the most dangerous weapons. Modern society, weakened by fear and prejudice, is easily influenced by the media, and those who control it today distort reality, creating the illusion of choice and freedom. Propaganda uses a variety of methods to influence ordinary people, making them submissive and powerless, but also confident and loyal to the state. I believe in the power of art to create a shift in society. Art can teach us to live through uncomfortable and sometimes painful situations, to question the information given to us, and break free from the mental slavery imposed by the corrupt system of those in power who constantly shout about stability and security, methodically taking away our freedoms and then, ultimately, our lives. I would like to invite you to a live performance in which each of you can become a participant in a symbolic action, where together we can disconnect a person from the system, bringing them closer to freedom. _______________________ Olga Volodina is an artist, photographer, performance artist, activist, author of many social and art projects that have been presented at exhibitions in Asia and Europe.
