We invite you to a curatorial tour of the exhibition Gifts of Friendship, led by Barbara Piwowarska. "Gifts of Friendship" is one of the most important presentations of new acquisitions in the history of the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. The exhibition features nearly 150 artworks donated to the museum by artists from around the world between 2024 and 2026. The project refers to the history of the a.r. group's International Collection of Modern Art, reminding us that museum collections can grow not only through the art market or institutional strategies, but also through relationships, solidarity, trust, and long-term collaboration. During the tour, Barbara Piwowarska will discuss the concept behind the exhibition, the history of artworks donated to the museum, and the ways in which contemporary artistic practices create new forms of togetherness and exchange. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the process of developing the exhibition, as well as the stories behind selected artworks and artistic gestures connected with their donation to the collection. The tour will begin at ms², where part of the exhibition enters into dialogue with Ways of Seeing. The group will then move to ms1, where the presented works engage in dialogue with the Neoplastic Room while contrasting with the historic bourgeois interiors of the former factory palace. ◾️May 16, 2026 (Saturday), 3:00 p.m. ◾️Start: ms², 19 Ogrodowa St. ◾️Continuation of the tour: ms¹, 43 Gdańska St. ◾️The curatorial tour will be conducted in English. ____ Zapraszamy na premierowe oprowadzanie kuratorskie po wystawie „Dary przyjaźni", które poprowadzi Barbara Piwowarska, kuratorka ekspozycji. „Dary przyjaźni" to jedna z najważniejszych prezentacji nowych nabytków w historii Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi. Na wystawie pokazujemy blisko 150 prac podarowanych muzeum przez artystki i artystów z całego świata w latach 2024-2026. Projekt nawiązuje do historii Międzynarodowej Kolekcji Sztuki Nowoczesnej grupy a.r., przypominając, że kolekcja muzealna może powstawać nie tylko dzięki rynkowi czy instytucjonalnym strategiom, ale także poprzez relacje, solidarność, zaufanie i wieloletnią współpracę. Podczas oprowadzania Barbara Piwowarska opowie o idei wystawy, historii darów przekazanych muzeum oraz o tym, w jaki sposób współczesne praktyki artystyczne budują dziś nowe formy wspólnotowości i wymiany. Uczestnicy i uczestniczki będą mogli poznać zarówno kontekst powstawania ekspozycji, jak i historie wybranych prac oraz artystycznych gestów, które stoją za ich przekazaniem do kolekcji. Oprowadzanie rozpocznie się w ms², gdzie prezentowana jest część wystawy dialogująca z ekspozycją „Sposoby widzenia. Kolekcja Muzeum Sztuki w Łodzi". Następnie grupa przejdzie do ms¹, gdzie prezentowane są prace dialogujące z Salą Neoplastyczną oraz kontrastujące z zabytkowymi, burżuazyjnymi wnętrzami byłego pałacu fabrykanckiego. ◾️czas: 16 maja 2026 (sobota), godz. 15:00 ◾️start: ms², ul.
